Re: Northstar (Denton) Shootout
Sorry you missed it Mr. Smith. Turnout was pretty low, but hats off to the staff at Northstar. They promised to pay all the purses! It was my first visit, and they have a nice little track. Everyone very nice, and ran the race well.
We had 12 S-SS cars. Jim Cimarolli trashed me in the first round... My .08 and dead on was just in his way, with his .02 light! I loaded up and went home. Weather was nice in the morning, but looked like they might have gotten some rain later in the day. Hope they got everything finished... Hope someone will jump in here with more results soon. Had a good time, even if I cant drive! Ken |

Jacob Pitt won the S/SS combo, he was .012 and I was .027, we both ran the dial.
That Denton track was really good IMO, the starting line was great even though we had torrid humidity and a pretty stiff headwind. My gauges had it at 4200 ft. |

Jim,
I have been bracket racing at Denton this season and really like the track. The traction/prep are always great and the program is very well run.

Re: Northstar (Denton) Shootout
Julie, it was so darn humid out there I almost fainted, but it was good to go a few rounds.
Larry, I agree, the guys at Northstar really do get the program going, they don't fool around and the starting line was superb IMO. Problem for me about going there to bracket race is the way I have to go to get there. SH 380 out of Greenville to Denton has 48 traffic lights, and that is just from where you get on 380 to the loop in Denton. Larry Croft told me that they planned to do it again, so I want to encourage any Stk/SS racer within a reasonable driving distance to Denton Tx. to try to attend his next race. Those folks know how to run a racing facility. |
