Indy Cylinder head did cast welding with a cast filler rod. They might do blocks.

Thanks for the info. Does Indy do their own welding, or do they send it to Rays?

When I saw it done it was in house. I thought it was art-form.

I am not sure but I think Ray may have been the guy that used to work for Indy and do heads and blocks in house.

Folks interested in this kind of stuff -

Well, this place is not located in Indiana but........

One of the best kept secret places that welds cast iron parts is located in Cambridge, IA. Schell Welding (515)383-4830.

Their work is not only impressive, it is done so well, one cannot see where the welding was done (after machining). Now that the kitty is out of the bag, the rest is on you.

Good Luck as you think with creativity.

Thanks for the additional resources. It seems they are all in the Indiana/Iowa area. My guy used Al Mathon for years. His son didn't want to continue the welding shop from what I was told. One of his customers blew the bottom out of a Turbo Buick V6 by swapping computers and not checking the timing. Cracked the main webs, bent the pins, cracked the Bryant crank, etc.
