Default Metric 200 question

I just looked at my metric 200 case, getting ready for spring, and it has
the dreaded bell housing crack. I have another case, but it has the
solenoid plug for a lockup which mine does not have. Can I swap
the internals, or do I need the non-lockup case? Thanks, J.R.

That's my 3rd or 4th option, trying to find out about the cases. J.R.

You should probably replace the case with a pre-1981 case , so that your spacer plate and VB will be compatible . Hopefully you are not running a solid transmission mount , which would put extra stress on the case . Also did you cut the "ears" off the bellhousing for header clearance ? Sometimes that creates a stress riser .

Ron, it was built by Dynamic. No, don't run a solid mount, but replaced
what looked like a tired beat up one with a new hard rubber one last
year. No, didn't cut the ears off. J.R.

We broke two cases until we went with McClay with the strut on it for the Corvette. No problems since.

The brace on the pass side is a must have item....If you really want to sleep at night call Leo G. For the replacement bell housing. Money well spent and far superior to the factory metric case.....

Worked on a KS/A with a Metric 200 and I remember calling a trans guy to see if that brace needed to be there. Never saw anything like that before. I left it after being told DO NOT TOUCH IT!
