Division 4 Area Stock/SuperStock Assoc
Hello all Stock/SuperStock Div 4 class racers !
With all that is going on in the world today, it’s difficult to predict the future of our sport and the effect on businesses involved with drag racing. We are sure that we all just want to race! That’s why we’ve been tossing around the idea to see what the interest level is to participate and race at “South Central Stock/Superstock Association” sanctioned events. We are at the very early stage of organizing the association, so we don’t have all the answers, but here are some ideas so far: - Goal to have 3-5 races or more if possible in 2021 - Tracks will be safe and well prepped, ( track safety rules followed) - Race sponsorship will be sought - Must be able to run class pindex ( NHRA) - NHRA safety and class requirements mandatory ( Honorary basis) - Qualifying based on reaction time - No fuel checks , but scales utilized wherever possible - You do not need to join the association to race Other considerations: - Dues to be $ ? per year for 2021. - Becoming a dues paying member will get the benefit of discounts (event tech card and/or free race ot ???)? - Allow stock/ super stock nostalgia cars to compete? - Allow IHRA stock/super stock to compete? - Allow crate motor cars to compete? - No heads up races? - Have S/SS race in conjunction with other races for less travel and more race time - Have double races in a weekend when possible This is just the beginning, any suggestions that would help the association are welcomed. Our first feasibility meeting will be held at 2 pm Saturday October 31st at the Lux residence 111 East Oak Estates Drive San Antonio, TX 78260 rsvp with phone , name, via email to Rj4004@yahoo.com or dlux@theluxfamily.com Please, if any of you would like to join via a Zoom meeting, advise that as well. 10/27/2020 2:26 PM Thanks R J Sledge and Dick Lux |

Re: Division 4 Area Stock/SuperStock Assoc
This is the format we use at the Southern Stock Super Stock Assn. The only difference is we use the IHRA indexes for all classes. Makes it a bit easier for guys just starting out to be able to be competitive. We haven't had any races in a couple of years for several reasons. Jim Woods is returning to Florida and is trying to get the association back up and running again. If you have any questions about starting an association Jim Woods and Jim Wahl can answer them for you. These type races can be a lot of fun. Good luck with getting your association going. it is worth the effort.

Thanks Mike I’m sure we will need all the help we can get.
You’re right about supporting these Association’s, with today’s climate concerning having a place to race, these groups may become our last alternative, along with local bracket racing and car shows..... Thanks again RJ |

Re: Division 4 Area Stock/SuperStock Assoc
This is a follow up letter to our first meeting on Saturday October 31 2020. In attendance were several people with RJ Sledge and Dick Lux.
Our vision was to include the whole Division 4 area. Since the meeting we have found several other associations in the Div. 4 area are operating or in planning, so without more talks we believe progress will be slow Any questions or comments can be sent via e-mail and include your phone number, to rj4004@yahoo.com or dlux@theluxfamily.com |
