Hp refactoring dates
I've looked at the stock classification guidelines. Many combos have been refactored and have a date when it was done. The combo that I am looking at has been refacatored and has no date. Trying to get enough info to request NHRA to take away a few HP. Is there a master list with the dates?

You need to run the compo first is my understanding of
the system......not just a letter like year ago.

Re: Hp refactoring dates
Refactoring of engine horsepower by NHRA actually started as early as the 60's but it was kept a secret for whatever reason until they published a book called the "Factor Finder" in 1972 followed by an updated version in 1973. Sometime in 1973 is also when NHRA started listing the refactored horsepowers at the bottom of the column in the classguide.
What engine combo are you trying to find out the date when it was refactored? |

In a somewhat related topic, can anyone answer this question ? How many runs does a driver needs to make ( within the .101 to .650 second window) on a certain combo in order to request a h.p. reduction ? If a driver shows up at a div. or national event and qualifies .140 under on the first run and then the remaining runs at that event are only .08 under the index, can the racer request a hp reduction based on that one run ? Or...does it take 2, 3 or more runs ( within the .101-.650 window) to be eligible for a hp reduction ?
