Default 1966 Mopar 273 2bbl Intake Casting Nos

I -emailed the Division 4 tech (Trey). They left off the 2bbl casting numbers for 1966 and 1967. This is what I got back.

The Engine Blueprint Guide will be updated to read intake manifold casting number for 1966 Dodge 180 hp 273 cubic inch engine will be: 2536560.

Now, I had looked through the other years of 273s and some 318 engines and found these casting numbers:

1968-9 273-2 intake casting number 2536559
1969 318-2 intake casting number 2468960
1970-2 318-2 intake casting number 2951185,3698431
1973-on 318-2 intake casting number 3698431

My question to those that may know about these things, are there two intakes with sequential numbers (559 and 560), or is one the casting number and one the part number? I know Chrysler usually had the casting and part numbers one digit apart for many parts back then. I let them know the casting number was missing on the 1967 blueprint spec as well. I'm pretty sure the 560 number is the service part number. I found that in a Larry Shepard book on SB Mopars and other places.

I've ordered the CD of the factory Chrysler parts book and service manual for 1966 Dodges on Rock Auto. That should be a good reference for what parts were used and the part numbers. It won't give me casting numbers unless there is a photo of the part, and those aren't necessarily accurate to the year.

No, I thought I'd do more research before bugging Mr. Wong. I talked to Ron Ortiz today. He had a couple of 2bbl intakes and then it digressed into chatting about the Gators. Since the college where I teach is closed the week of the Gators, I'm considering making a quick run down to check out the action (as a spectator). I'd probably just go on Thursday when the Stock and SS guys are there and might have a little time.

I can't afford an LD340 now, the prices have gone up a lot in the last few months. It wouldn't work on the 273. The ports are even bigger than the LD4B and those ports are bigger than the ports on my 920 heads.

Rag71, thanks for the tip. Arkansas might be close enough to go pick it up. Most of the others I've seen were too far away.

Dwight, please explain to me just how a combo can be raced for YEARS without an approved intake manifold number in the guide? And what about the 65 cars?

Billy, move over, you have company in the one year only intake manifold combo. Everything I found online said the 2536560 p/n was the part number, not the casting number. Well, at least I have the casting to look for. I haven't seen one yet.
