Default Midwest Super Comp results Havana /Saturday

Happiness in Havana.

Here what went down at Central Illinois drag way last weekend. Saturday morning we woke to sunshine but as the morning progressed the skies threatened to open up but other than couple of momentary sprinkles it never did.
Sixteen cars with Pat LaMont qualifying #1 with a 5.700
He met a red lighting Chris Gerakaris in the first round (-.018)
Chris' Daddy Jim Gerakaris advanced when Jeff Torbeck went 5.699 (ah ****💩!) to Jim's 5.74. Points leader Gary " bad beaver" Jenkins used a near perfect 5.7009 to stop Dyno Dave Livesey's 5.7033. Lynn Serena left on and never looked back at Rob Bush (5.78 vs 5.86).Jim Glossen's .019/5.72 was enough to hold off the Professor's slightly tardy .038/5.70. Chad LaMont benefitted when Brett Edwards turned on the Crimson mood killer (-005&#128580
Tim Folley had an excellent .008 light but however Brian Mileham had a better one .006! Unfortunately Brian also when the to the dark side of the index at 5.66 vs Tim's 5.73.
Larry Bernshausen fresh off of a super gas runner up and a super comp win at Martin Mi faced off with Tom Jamison and Tom at least was ready as he positively tattooed Larry on the tree .014 vs a .101? But fortunately For Larry, Tom was struggling with getting down to the 5.70 standard and posted a way too quick 5.57 advancing Larry's 5.72.

The second round saw the two points leaders square off with nearly identical lights Jenkins' 5.72 was just barely enough to stop Jim Gerakaris' 5.73.
Mr. Serena benefitted as Jim Glossen went -005 red (5.699 vs 5.711).
Tim Foley use a perfect .000 light to push Chad further under the index 5.698 vs 5.680.
The round ended with the old guys Pat and Larry both relighting with Pat first at-.005 vs Larry's -.004.

The semi's saw Lynn Serena post a 5.708 to force The " bad beaver" under at 5.659 and Larry advance as Tim Foley pushed his luck a little to far as he went -.007 red.
Now Larry Bernshausen wasn't just going rounds, he was also going rounds in the quick 16 program and his mount was starting to show the strain as his water pump quit just before the final.
So he headed up to the staging lanes for the final on a tow rope. Where Mr Serena was gracious enough to wait.
The final was a good one with nearly identical lights they tore off toward the finish line moments later Larry's win light and the scoreboards told the story as Larry's 5.685 was just a tick closer than Lynn's 5.679. Oh and did I mention that Larry also won the quick 16 race too!
Starting with last weekend at Martin were Larry won 9 of 10 rounds and the 8 rounds he won at CIR that makes 17 of 18 rounds! Now some people, including Larry, will point out that he had some luck but You and I both know it takes more than that.
Folks this guy is simply put the "True Doctor" of our styles of sportsman drag racing.🤔
