I have a 3620 lb 76 Camaro/350 030 over,I/SA 5:13 gears.9x30in tire
Cam specs
intake exhaust
.391 .411
duration
281 290
valve timing
@ .050 int 25 btdc 49
exh 64 btdc 20
with 102.0 intake center line
duratio @ .050 intake 254 exh 264
Please if you can recomend a mfg and stall
I tested my car with the 4:56 and tci 8 inc converter and only ran 13.64 @ 97 mph the car would only stall to about 3000, I have now installed 5:13 gears and I am having a shop loosen the converter.
Thank You for all your help I just want to qualify.

The stall needs to be well over 5000, but how you get there is important too.
PM me if you'd like a specific recommendation. Need to know where you live .

You should get more mph with that combo, even if the convertor is too tight . Is that an up to date brand name stocker cam? ...Thanx Trevor

I'd look at a 5.38 gear. The converter should probably flash closer to 5000-5500.

2nd the call to ATI.....5.13 gear is fine as long as you have a 2.75 low gear in the trans. ( a 2.91 metric would be better but..)

Don't confuse what stall you can reach on the brakes with flash stall. A 5000 or plus converter will only stall about 3000 on the brakes. Have a name brand converter mfg. modify the converter based on your specs. The mfg. will get it right at the start.
