Re: Torque converter recomendation need help
The stall needs to be well over 5000, but how you get there is important too.
PM me if you'd like a specific recommendation. Need to know where you live .

Re: Torque converter recomendation need help
You should get more mph with that combo, even if the convertor is too tight . Is that an up to date brand name stocker cam? ...Thanx Trevor

Call Lenny at Ultimate Converter Concepts. His stuff is all I will run in my Stocker and my bracket cars. He is also a site sponsor, and a great guy to deal with.

Re: Torque converter recomendation need help
Call Tim Cole or Chris Padgitt at Comp to see if it is up to date.
I'd look at a 5.38 gear. The converter should probably flash closer to 5000-5500.

Re: Torque converter recomendation need help
2nd the call to ATI.....5.13 gear is fine as long as you have a 2.75 low gear in the trans. ( a 2.91 metric would be better but..)

Re: Torque converter recomendation need help
Don't confuse what stall you can reach on the brakes with flash stall. A 5000 or plus converter will only stall about 3000 on the brakes. Have a name brand converter mfg. modify the converter based on your specs. The mfg. will get it right at the start.
