307 olds stocker ?
Hi I have block ?. NHRA 307 olds stocker non roller engine. Are you using the factory 307 open main web block in stock or is it legal to sleeve a 330 or 350 solid main blocks?
Thanks Bernhard |

Yes, you can sleeve a 330/350 block but I've never heard of the 307 blocks being a problem in a Stocker.

I've seen a 307 pull the center mains out of the block. It may not be common but it can happen. It isn't a pretty picture.

Re: 307 olds stocker ?
Some 25 years ago, there were about 6 thousand 307 Olds stockers running around. Those motors were beat to death and proved to be quite durable.
Unless you’re using nitrous, nitro, or some other exotic ingredient, I would not be too concerned with the “windowed mains” scare on Olds motors. |

Re: 307 olds stocker ?
You should contact Don Forester. He uses Dave Smith engines and they have some of the fastest Olds Stocker stuff out there.
