Default Buying In Car Camera

I am considering purchasing an in car camera. Does anyone recommend a certain kind or the best place to purchase one? I am looking at the Replay XD but would like to hear opinions. I am not sure if the ones that are like a helmet cam or the one that mounts on the roll bar is better.

Check with Jim Schaechter, they had one mounted in their Chevy 2. There was a post about in car cameras some time back and he said what kind it was and the price. About to get the Firebird back together? J Gower M/S 3058

I had 2-3 customers who bought one called the "Hero", and I saw some really good video from it.

From what I've found, the HD Motorsports Hero is the best for the money. You can get all sorts of different ways to mount it, but that suction cup that comes with it aint moving.

yes the gopro hero is the best...you can buy a motorsports version that comes with a few different mounts specially for cars, such as the roll bar mount.

i have heard a lot of good things about the replay XD and its very compact. Could be useful for some interesting mounting locations

While we are at it.. How about one that works on a motorcycle also. You know, one of those vibrating protable air compressor types...

I've used a SONY regular video camera mounted to the handle bars. OK at speed. And also a Cannon digital camera that has video with the same RAM mount. OK, but....
I also have to tape over the microphone port for wind noise..

The go pro is great for this. Check out you tube and search go pro supercross. There are some great helmet cam videos from this years supercross races.
