Who is this ?
Need a little ID help from some of you guys who were around Stock class racing in the late '70's.
Below is a pic we took at the '78 Cajun Nationals. The car is a '72 GTO national record holder. But, I don't remember the driver's name. The names of Rock Running, Mick Leiferman, and Larry Maxwell have come up. But no positive ID. One said he thought the car may have belonged to Rock Running, then was sold to Larry Maxwell. Can any of you guys make a positive ID of car & driver ? I noticed that Larry Maxwell is still racing a Pontiac A-body Stocker. He ran in the div 7 race this past weekend. Do any of you guys know him well enuff to ask him about this car ? |

Sonny Ray ..David Rampy's father in law. The car came from Pontiac as an HO post car ,with the Sport nose (GTO look). Always a Super Stocker. It was later painted white and blue , and I believe its still down south somewhere. Ask Rambo if you want the rest of the story.

Re: Who is this ?
I think Danny's car used to belong to Bob Howe.It was a rare t 37.Had a 3 speed stick from the factory. Not many of those made.Heard he might be restoring it back to original.

Also, would also like to see pics of Mick Leiferman's car. I think it is probably famous, since he got Stock RU @ Indy, 3 years running --'75-'77. http://www.nhra.com/blog/indy-2009/2...-trivia-redux/ Last edited by oldskool; 09-26-2016 at 05:41 PM. |
