M/t - hoosier - goodyear is there a proven difference
GOOD MORNING - After quite a few updates almost done and looking forward to taking the Dakota to the NED Division 1 Race coming up in July I would like to purchase a fresh set of Slick's to compare to our current M/T Radial 9x30x15 tires. I am sure that this is a subject that has been talked about over and over but with today's technology I was curious if anyone has made any comparison run's to make a decision if there is any advantage to one of the MFG's - Thank's in advance for your input

On my car the Goodyear 4457 were faster than the C07. I have not tried the M/T tires. I got 230 runs out of a set of 4457 and still had good check hole depth. I think Jeff Longhany is going to mount the tires that have 230 runs and see how fast they are on his car.

Make sure you compare old tires to old tires and new tires to new tires. My new tires always seem a couple hundreths slower than the old ones.

it was a fair test new vs new, same track same day, all runs made in less than one hour 4457 and C07.

Re: M/t - hoosier - goodyear is there a proven difference
I havent tried M/T personally, but I have notice the people using them are changing them after 30-40 runs on higher HP cars. The 4457 Goodyear is the best tire I have used for date as far as traction, longevity, and ET. People claim the M/T is a little faster, but in my opinion, I think they may just be a little faster because they have a little less rollout. I haven't tried Hoosier either, but people seem to have good longevity with them as well. All of our cars use the 4457 Goodyear, including my firebird that has been low 1.20 60fts at mid 9's. I can easily get 200 runs on this car, and even when/if the tires get worn they still don't spin. I think Goodyear is the best all around tire on the market right now.

Re: M/t - hoosier - goodyear is there a proven difference
So now that Competition Tire lost the deal, who are you guys getting your Goodyear tires from? Had to get M/T for my car because nobody is bringing a Goodyear trailer to the Northeast divisionals. Shelby enterprises took over the deal, and it doesn't seem they are very interested in providing track support. None of my warehouses stock the 4457 and Mail Order houses didn't seem to have them in stock either.
