Default Oil contamination!!

We were changing oil on the Race Car, and the oil (Mobil 1) had an orange colour to it. Pulled out the motor and the oil is gummy, and the pan looks likes it has primer painted on the inside. All else looks good. We tried a smaller set of headers last week, and it was very rich. We were using Renegade 12 fuel. Also, there was NO WATER in the oil. We are at a loss. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. J.R.

JR, did you run a break in oil or use a moly oil additive before the Mobil 1?

Hey Al, how are you? Al, like yourself I bought the car already running.
Although we had it apart over the winter, we didn't make any changes to the shortblock or cam, so no, we didn't use any additives. Thanks, J.R.

If you can get a sample of the oil and fuel to an oil analysis lab they will be able to define any cross contamination.

If you bought it T/K maybe it is primer? Some guys will use red primer in the valley etc instead of using Glyptal. Might explain the color in the pan.

It is a new pan that we just put on last month. But I like the way you think!
Thanks, J.R.
