Re: SS/K Stick Shift Shootout Class Nationals May 2014
On a lighter note compared to what else is going with my dad I wanted to post an update to this Shootout. I'm still working on getting more support for the race. Again thank you to Dean Oliver,Total Seal and McLeod for their support. As of now I have 3100.00 in product/gift certificates for the SS/K Shootout. I hope to get 10-12 cars there for this race. Right now I just hope to make the race. Cost is a big factor for me. I'll probably have to skip 3 or 4 races in D4 next year to make it but that's my problem. I need to be there. I told my dad he has to be there with me. That will make it all worth while if he is there with me. If you know anyone who can run SS/K that I don't have listed let them know about this race. I'll update again when I hear from other supporters of the race.Thanks. Ed

Thanks for all of your work on the SS/K Shootout, Ed! You've done a great job. As I've mentioned in another thread, I think will open the door for bigger and better things in the future. I've already had brewing in my head a Stick-Shift Only Combo shootout for 2015... why? Because *I* want to watch it!

Ed
In light of the news on your dad I will pledge $100 support in fuel money for you and your dad to attend this event. I will challenge all other members on this forum to do a similar pledge. Contact me and let me know when you need the money. My contact number is as follows Mike Pearson ssia2485@yahoo.com 813-433-4742 On a side note. I pray that things go well for your dad in the near future. There have been great strides made in the cure for cancers in recent years. There is a real good chance your dad can beat this. In any event spend as much time with him as possible. I lost my dad a few years back and miss him horribly. He was a great man. Best wishes Mike

I didn't mean it to come out like that. I appreciate it very much but that wasn't my attention. I'm no different than anyone else. Thanks Mike and Mike. Ed

Ed, you have really got something worthwhile and fun started here. I wish you much success with this event and what a great list of participants. Wow!!! That is going to be great!
And thank you to all the sponsors and support from racers for this. It is great to see something so positive being planned for next year and you and your father will attend. Best wishes and prayers for his fight. Thanks for your effort! Gary Howe GT/L

C'mon Gary,, get a plane ticket and come on out. Brown and I and a buddy aren't going to miss this event, and I know you'd have a blast too. Think about it,,, of course, you could always bring your screamin' 55 along,,, man, I love that car. Take care.
