Default GT Engine Combo

I have a 68 camaro I am considering running in super stock. I am wanting to run it in one of the slower gt classes, is there a good combination for a 350 in one of these classes because I already have a short block.

Thanks Chris

We have a 69 Camaro we run in Super Stock. We looked really hard at running GT, for 2-3 months, and we found that the 1st generation Camaro really doesn't have too many competitive GT possibilities.

Why not build a 295/350 and run it in a traditional class? With factory heads, it's only factored at 317HP, and runs at 9.44 pounds per HP in SS/GA. I doubt you'll find a different 350 that will run competitively in GT.

Mark - Is that the combination Mike Town races? I know it is a 2-bbl engine.

I forgot about that combo Mark.... That would be a good one. Chris if you don't want to run a 2bbl then Adger is right go with a 305.

I can't remember which one, but one of the fuel infected 305's was way under rated at one time.

Dwight , I think so. The 69 is 233 also .Obviously stuck with that with a 69 body.
Somebody got the 70 hit a little, so it's out there somewhere.

Adger, All the 305s are beat up pretty good for GT.
Other option for GT/MA is the 283. As long as one is not afraid of rpm's, that'll work too.

Was the 69 with the 441 head only?

Yep. 1970 2 bbl (only) is listed as 441 , but smaller chamber.
It is what it is,..like a 459 intake on a 283 ,right?
