Default 82 Mustang

My name is Mike Keener I have not been on here much in years. I ran a 82 Mustang in p/sa about 5 years ago my son is wanting to get the car out race. Has the HP changed any since then, it would only go 5 under then. When NHRA took off the 3 hds. we parked it, because at Bristol it would not index. thanks

It's 157 as of last August. I don't know what it was before then.
It makes R/SA now .It ought to run the index now.
There was a similar Capri in Div. 6 last week that ran about 9 under

Might I ask..What type of converter is in it?

It was 170 when we ran, so that would help a lot. The converter is a PTC stall is about 4300

I was always under the impression that the 82 GT "HO" 2 barrel 302 engine was a stick only combination. Like the 83-85 4 barrel HO Mustangs & Capris were. You could get a 5.0 with a AOD automatic , at least in 84 & 85, but they all came with a CFI throttle body EFI.

If I am not mistaken, Mikes car is a 255 at 150 hp and would run r or t automatic.
