10 passes and you didnt bypass the controller, should have tried.Dont give up yet, maybe a chassis dyno is the right thing to do.

Backed it off the trailer this morning and removed the controller. Took it for a spin down the state road in front of my subdivision...can't really see a difference in it which is troubling in itself. Rev limiter being capped at 5800 does not help either.

Do the plugs look like they could use more or less timing? Can the cam be too big/ small? Is your cyl compression low?Too much or not enough gear?5800 might be enough rpm depending on combo.

Yes -

Leak down test from sometime last year...I think I did it correctly.

4.56 gear, 26" tire, 2.92 low C-4, 8" converter, Comp stocker grind cam. Nothing special on the heads...new valves with appropriate springs. Engine just feels flat and not pulling hard all the way down the track. Feels like it picks up a little at the top of third gear.

Can the lsa be too tight with too much int. duration screwing with the fuel inj.?The way you explained it, it sounds like big int. duration with early ivc I think there are other possibilities that you can get back your mid tq. /hp without sacrificing top end. This setup now only shows less than 300 hp.Dont give up on a car that is easy to repeat/comfortable .

Too many Stock Eliminator cars out there running these cams for that to be an issue I would imagine.

What controller?? Buy it new? Stock AFR will be 15-16 in high gear at 6000. Just getting the AFR to 12.5-13.0 will pick it up 5 tenths.

I started out years ago with my 87 mustang M/SA set up just like yours and first time out went 12.50's. I had 30 inch tires with 5.13, but your 56's with 26 inch tires shouldn't be to far off. Key is the automatic cars don't like being reved up, I shifted at 5400 and went thru at around 6400. But the main difference is the computer. We had an old Accel in the beginning and later put a FAST in it. These are very good combos don't give up, just put a real computer in it. By the way I'm just finishing up my 92 mustang in SS/LA with same fuel injected 5.0 and we're gonna see if we can't get one to run well SS.

The factory rev limiter on that A9P should be 6250. Why 5800?
