Re: Ford vs Chevy Build-up
It was just a rattle can I had lying about...may have been Eastwood cast grey. The entire block is painted the same.

Re: Ford vs Chevy Build-up
Arrived late at Bowling Green today and only got one qualifying run. The injector/MAF swap proved to be only a marginal improvement. First pass was a 13.56 @ 96.42mph. I glanced at the afr gauge thru the lights and it was showing 11.6...far from the desired 13.5 afr.
Before first round I pulled 12 percent fuel across the board and was going to lower the fuel pressure a bit, but it was already below 40psi. Next pass only improved to a 13.51 @ 96.80mph. I'm thinking the next time I have this junk out I will remove the controller completely and run it on the stock ecm for effect...just about out of ideas here.

Rich, knocking off 2 seconds isn't too bad, Lol. Seriously though, how much timing are you running ? 30 degrees total is a pretty good start.

Re: Ford vs Chevy Build-up
Thanks Scott...like we briefly discussed this weekend, I believe I will take that controller out of the loop and see what the factory ecm does for afr's.

Re: Ford vs Chevy Build-up
Took the Mustang to the track this evening to try and improve one last time...no joy. It seems no matter what I adjust it makes no difference, even with wild swings with fuel or timing.
Injectors swapped for 19's and a stock MAF sensor...checked phasing for rotor as well. I'm beginning to wonder if this controller is defective...the only thing I did not try this evening is bypassing the controller completely and run it on the factory ecm alone. I made about ten passes total...the last five the track went away and it spun the tires badly every time. Best et was 8.54 and lagged to 8.70's as the starting line went to hell. My data logger proved to be finicky as well all night...no conclusive data to review. It appears this one will have to go to a chassis dyno along with someone experienced with this efi to ever get it sorted out. I'm totally disgusted right now with the entire deal. Such a shame as this is the easiest combination to drive that I have ever sit in...cuts killer lights time after time.
