Default Quick Challenge at Maple Grove for 2022

S&W Performance Group & Watson McDaniel step up to become title sponsors of Maple Groves Quick Challenge Series for 2022

Maple Grove Raceway – Reading, Pa – S&W Performance Group and Watson McDaniel Steam Products have signed on to be the title right sponsor for the revamped Quick Challenge Series at Maple Grove Raceway. The Top Challenge Series which primarily featured Top Dragster & Sportsman racers during the off weekends of the NHRA tour was seeing a decrease in car counts over the years. In the off-season Top Dragster Champion Alan Robinson’s wife Donna got with the Maple Grove staff to spear head a way to revamp the series to open it to more competitors. S&W and Watson McDaniel jumped on board to become the primary sponsors and the names of the classes were changed to Quick Rails & Quick Doors and last but, not least the Dragster ET was bumped up from 7.70 to 7.90 to allow those dragsters on the edge to come play on those weekends, the Door Cars will still be 6.10 to 7.99. The series will still follow the Summit ET Rule book and if you are unsure if your car fits the classes, you can reach out to Maple Grove Raceway.

The season kicks off on Sunday, June 5th for Race # 1 as part of the VW June Bug Day, Pro Dial Bracket Race #3, and Junior Dragsters Points Day. The Series than runs it’s first of 2 double weekends for the year as they join the Mid Atlantic .90 Series and Junior Dragsters on June 25th & 26th for Race # 2 & 3. The ever-popular Chevy Showdown is the scene for Race # 4 as the series will take center stage for a one race – three-day event on July 22nd to 24th. The series closes it all out with Race # 5 & 6 at the 2nd Annual Dave Stine Memorial Event on September 9th to 11th. This will be a great opportunity for the Top Sportsman racers to get some extra test laps in and be the first to stack outside as they are the featured Top category at the Pep Boys Nationals the following weekend.

With S&W and Watson McDaniel stepping up to be the title right sponsor for the season, all events will be a guaranteed $1,500 to win / $750 runner-up in both classes for a small $150 entry fee per event and at the end of the day, the winner of Quick Rails will square off against the winner of Quick Doors for an additional $500 thanks to Ron Riegel Race Engines. The year end points purse will be a combined purse paying back the Top 5 racers with $2,500 going to the Champ. To sign up for points you can go to MapleGroveRaceway.com and complete the online form, it’s only $25.00 to run for the yearly championship.

If you would like to become an event sponsors or yearly sponsor you can reach out to the track or find us on Facebook under Top Quick Challenge, we’d love to have you come on board to help increase the support for this series!

Here is the flyer for the events, working also on some additional sponsors to bring that purse up:
