Re: 2011 Stock/Super Stock Rule Changes
Am I understanding this one correctly. You can not run heavier than the next lower classes Minimum weight? So there will be no more running 300 pounds heavy to slow down cars?
WEIGHT All cars will be permitted to run on the class minimum weight, but may be no heavier than the minimum for the next heavier class. Car can move up (lighter) one class or down (heavier) one class. If weight is added, must be properly attached; see BALLAST. Class and classification weight are determined without driver weight. Once classification weight is calculated, 170 pounds is added for driver to arrive at total weight. All cars are weighed with driver. |

Re: 2011 Stock/Super Stock Rule Changes
One new class has been added (AA Front Wheel). Does that mean the rumor of the factory cars in their own class goes away?

i think the Max weight rule has been a long time coming. If you are heavy enough to run D/SA, you are D/SA, as long as the car fits that class, even if you did put C/SA on the sheet.
Also notice that now heim joint tie rods (bump steer kits) are legal now, after much heated debate.

Re: 2011 Stock/Super Stock Rule Changes
Do I understand correctly that now "any" valve spring is permitted, including dual springs "provided no modification to head is performed."? But that removing the "step" on Mopar heads would be considered a "modification"?
IHRA usually follows NHRA. |
