Re: Original hemi dart information
I just got word from Dick Oldfield that Tom Hoover is on life support.. I don't know any other information other than that dick said Tom had something last year & it's back but much worse. He is paralyzed from the waist down
Send him your prayers. Wishing all the best to the man that turned the automotive world upside down liteweight Last edited by Liteweight; 04-03-2015 at 07:04 PM. |

Re: Original hemi dart information
Dick Oldfield has reported the latest on Tom Hoovers condition. He is in recovery from a disorder called guillain-barre syndrome. It is some sort of nerve disorder.

Re: Original hemi dart information
Rick Lakin aka Frito sent me this photo. Hard to make out but there's a Hemi Dart on the back of that hauler. Right behind the Charger. Where I'm going with this is, Pete Marzec aka Manhattan Speed Hemi Dart silver in color had a 67 Charger previous to getting the Dart. Anyone know of Race Car Engineering, like, where they were located?etc

Re: Original hemi dart information
That sure looks like Lone Star Race Car Engineering in Oak Grove Ky. Bill Weller and Bill Barnett was the money behind it. At one time had two Darts. One SS and the other altered. The SS car was real, the not. Barnett had a big farm, pawn shop and liquor store. Oak Grove is across the street from the gates at Fort Campbell.

Here is the LO23 in question for Lone Star Racing. Similar logo? They both (car and shop) include the phrase "Race Car Engineering" so it's quite possible. But....no Star on the shop as part of "Lone Star". Always another mystery...huh Daryl? Last edited by Charlie A; 04-09-2015 at 05:56 PM. |
