Wheel issue
I got new wheels from Summit and they fit pretty good except around the center register they are a little large.. Is this an issue?

Re: Wheel issue
YES YES- the wheel is supposed to fit snug on the spigot--- this eliminates the wheel being off center ever so slightly on the axle---if it is off center you will end up with vibrations if you only use the axle studs to do the job --the faster the wheel turns the more the vibrations will increase- you will not be able to balance the wheel ON THE axle--- you should be able to balance the wheel OFF the axle on a machine---you are going to need to buy or make bushings to fit into that space to correct the problem --- I would call Summit and have them register another set of rims perhaps the wheel manufacturer machine them wrong --Good luck FED 387

Re: Wheel issue
Wheels are either hub centric or lug centric. Racing wheels that use shouldered lug nuts or center on 5/8" studs are lug centric.

Re: Wheel issue
from the pics looks like he has 1/2 inch studs and they look awfully short they do not protrude thru the wheel enough--- he could go with 5/8 studs but then he is going to have to rework is axles to fit them PLUS buy a 5/8 stud kit--FED 387

Re: Wheel issue
Might be an optical delusion but the wheels look like they are made for a taper seat lug nut in which case I think the lugs are what centers the wheel.
Personally I would be calling the wheel manufacturer and asking them to be certain.
