Intake Manifold Heat Shield
I have a chance to buy a 3973469 (1971 350/270) intake manifold but the heat shield is missing. Is this a big deal? Should I keep looking?

Re: Intake Manifold Heat Shield
John… No big deal. You can replace it with one from any cast iron small block intake if you find it necessary. On a race application crossover passage is usually blocked off where intake meets heads. Maurice.

Just use something like this:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mor-25050/overview/ I always notch the holes so you can remove the thing without taking all the push rods out.
