W/TH in NHRA classification?
Hi All,
hope you can help with our query. We have just finished preparing a 1970 Camaro with an LT1 and hope to be racing it here in Sweden in D/SA next season, but when establishing the legal weight we come across different shipping weights depending on whether it's a "coupe 2 door" or a "coupe 2 door W/TH. I initially thought TH stood for TurboHydramatic, but the different weights appear also under "manual transmission", so what does the TH stand for? 350 350 * * auto manual 360 360 3341 3341 3397 3397 325 320 12.19.02 1.1.15 I would be very grateful if you can tell me the difference between the 3341 lbs and the 3397 lbs. Thank you! Last edited by RickMcCannGTCA; 09-15-2017 at 09:33 AM. Reason: incomplete description |

Re: W/TH in NHRA classification?
The w/TH does indicate an automatic transmission.
Dwight Southerland has kindly put together a website that is more user friendly than the NHRA classification guide and has all of the critical data. Please register with Dwight on this website: http://www.classracerinfo.com/Default.aspx For your car (1970 Camaro 350 cid / 360 factory HP) Shipping weight w/ MT = 3341lbs. NHRA P/W factor = 10.44 NHRA HP rating 320 Shipping weight w/ TH = 3397lbs. NHRA P/W factor = 10.45 NHRA HP rating 325 Min. Wt. w/ driver: D/SA = 3258 lbs. (NHRA rounds down to 3255 lbs.) E/SA = 3420 lbs. F/SA = 3583 lbs. (NHRA 3580 lbs) |
