Don't know. Someone told me once they saw it sitting outside near Keystone lake near here. Jeanie and I drove around the area I was told it was spotted for two weekends. Never did find it. Last guy I knew owned it had a 427" in it, driving it on the street. Had zero rust when I had it, and zero body repair. Very light, straight, clean car. No telling now. Only race car I ever had that made enough money to support it's self.

Built an engine for that paint job. Panels were "in" then. Look funny now.

Ed - That picture was taken at the 1970 Springnationals at Dallas International (Denton). My note on the back says "205 hp N/S record holder". Cars like that and people like you were inspirational to me. I remember talking to you then.

Wow! Thanks Dwight! Btw, it was 225 hp. 2X4bl small solid lifter cam Corvette engine. The 205 was a single carb & hyd lifters. But you know that. Thought the track was in Lewisville. Long time ago, and I'm old.

Gas was what? 39 cents a gal. Car bodies were $50 to $200 bucks, entry fees were $40 (in 1977) or less in 1970. Parts like your dual quads were maybe $15 to $50 dollars. Firestone 7 inch slicks were maybe $89 a pair. The win money was UP THERE in comparison to today. Dave Boertman won over $13,000 at Indy in 1970. Whats that in todays money. Some guys made a living to survive running locally when times were tough. Today NHRA rapes you for every nickle and have you asked what some one made this year at a race while running a $100,000 stocker. It was fesable to race back in the day. Its carzy today unless your well off.

Yeah, prize money was about the same as now. Just went a lot further.

Dwight, would you mind if I put it on my facebook page? Right next to the one with a couple of us under it swapping out 3 speeds just before class run-offs? I'll give you credit for the pic.
