Re: Has there ever been a 4 cyl. car run in the 11's in Stoc
I expect that the 2015 Mustang Ecoboost will be able to do it if Ford puts it in the guide.

If recent history has shown us anything, they would probably build a few $100K special non streetable Ecoboost pieces and pass them off as Stock eliminator cars for the lower classes. It don't seem to be too hard to get a new "anything" put in the guide. |

Stock V6 3.5l ecoboost 365hp 5000rpm 420 torque at 2500 rpm in pickup now/ more horsepower and torque than 5.0l and almost same as 6.2 iron block from factory, it is also a 4 valve motor and that horsepower rating is at 5000rpm. Quick tune in a mustang and it will be 10's a good tuner/builder will have it 9's in a mustang in no time Think what the buick turbo regal 2 valve motor almost 30 years ago did. the ecoboost that is going to be used in the 2015 Mustang is a four cylinder.

Re: Has there ever been a 4 cyl. car run in the 11's in Stoc
I have also looked into building a Turbo Solstice/Sky Stocker. They look good, are pretty light and slick aerodynamically.
Down sides are it's short wheel base (only 95"), and the lack of visibility out the rear of the car, especially trying to look into the right lane for those Copos, DPs & CJs that you know are coming. The Solstice was available as a coupe with a removable targa top in 2009, which would be better aero than the rag-top & seemingly make fitting the roll bar easier. MY2009 isn't in the Guide, but the car is listed as a "Coupe" in the Guide for MY2006-08. Would this be considered a "paper car" like the '98 Camaro/Firebird with the LT1 motor?
