Default Successfully Kidney Transplant For D5 SS Racer Jim Voth

Wanted to let everybody know that my father underwent successful transplant surgery yesterday for a kidney. All is well and he is in good spirits. His donor was his daughter and my sister, Susan. She is in much more pain, as expected, but recovering nicely, as well. He's wishing he was out in Topeka this weekend, but can't wait to row the gears again soon. Thanks for all the positive thoughts and well wishes!!

Great to hear the successful surgery. Im at a steady 35% kidney function and if I ever need surgery I hope it goes as well as yours. Speedy recovery!

Hats off to your sister, for being brave and selfless enough to undergo the surgery to help your Dad. Another example of heroes in everyday life.

Dad was released today from Research Medical Center and will be staying in KC for another week to be monitored. Everything is moving along smoothly and his numbers are great. We anticipate him being home next Monday. My sister is back home resting comfortably, as well. The procedure went well and dad is beginning to feel like his old self again. He wanted me to personally thank each and every one of you for your thoughts, prayers, and good vibes sent his way this past week. It means the world to him. It means the world to all of us! Thanks everyone and hope to see you in the staging lanes soon!!
