Recommendation for AFCO 3840f/BNC front shocks
I am looking for recommendations for the rebound and compression settings on these for my 97 S10.
60' is 1.41-1.42 and carries the front about 20' out and I still have a bounce where it slightly unloads the rear tires via driveshaft graph. These are stock valving. Rebound is 28 from tight (~40 clicks) and compression is 8 from tight (~22 clicks). Thank you, Clark Last edited by cad; 07-29-2020 at 02:36 PM. |

Call Eric Folger at Afco. I have the same shocks. My car kept bouncing after a wheel stand. Revalving on his recommendation fixed everything. Very knowledgeable. Reasonable pricing on the adjustment.

The driveshaft graph does show a little hump at about .5. The rear shocks are custom valved by Envy Suspension. They have 5.5" travel and set with 2 inches showing. I tightened up the compression on the front to Zero this past weekend....happened to pit next to Gary Stinnett at our bracket race last weekend, and he said the truck just looked stiff. In addition, we just moved the instant center to 46" out, 7.5" up and bottom bar down 1.9 degrees, and will TNT this weekend. Tires are MT 3074S with 9.5 psi and about 40 runs on them now. Gary said he thinks the tire is bouncing up and maybe even go up to 10.5 psi. Thanks, Clark |

Don't buy anything, yet. With 1.40 60's I can't see you having HP/spin issues. Think you need to spend more time on the back end. Also don't care for the stiff sidewall slick.
