Default settin cruise rpm

Hi guys, I just switched from a inline stop, to a under carb #1 plate stop{air}. Was wondering if there is a way to set the cruise rpm without a bunch of track time. Thanks for any info.

You have to engage the throttle stop. Depending on what throttle stop timer you have you can do this in the box or you may have to switch the airlines at the stop. To check the RPM put in 1st gear hit transbrake and deck it (just like on starting line). Then make your adjustments and repeat. **Make sure trans is in first during this procedure**
Hope this helps

Just be aware that the rpm that you set in the pits, depending on your combo, will be 100 to 150 rpm's higher when going down the track

If you're using a Mega 450, by any chance... All you have to do is hold down the "0" on the number pad, until the "ON" and "OFF" on the screen switch places... And then just do the rest like Clint said... Put it in 1st, hold the transbrake, and put it to the wood... Just make sure you don't let go of the button, or just keep your foot on the brake for reassurance...

Chuck - we check ours each morning and it has honestly never changed from checking it in the pits to going down the track... Unless the air drastically changes or something, then it might.

I agree! I record each run and have never seen mine change from the pits to the track. Now mine used to climb rpms on the stop, shifting on timer cured that.

With my new engine / convertor combo i found mine is 300 rpm lower on the track. Set it @ 4600 in pits equals 4300 on track according to my Mega 450 playback. I don't know why i have to cheat it like that, but works.

If you use a launch chip - take it out while setting. especailly if the cruse is high than the launch.
You can disconnect the air lines and have someone manually adjust the cruise while your holding the brake and the pedal down.

After seeing your post Dave I checked ours using our data logger and we see the same 300 rpm. - Thanks for the tip.
