Default Entering a IHRA Pure Stocker in a True Street event...

For any of the Pure Stocker guys:

Have you ever heard of running a Pure Stocker at an NMRA or NMCA event in the True Street class in legal PS trim and under the index ?

I am getting my PS Mustang insured and registered this week and plan to run the True Street class at the upcoming NMRA World Finals. ( Oct 2-4)

I have set some goals:

* Run in complete legal trim for a 1995 Mustang GT in I/PS .

* Complete the 30 mile cruise without problems and line up for the mandatory three 1/4 mile passes.

* Must run under the I/PS 14.55 index in the 1/4 mile on all 3 runs back to back to back. ( going to be real close on running under 14.55, but if the air is cool, I should be o.k.)

* We are not allowed to open the hood at all once the 30 mile cruise begins and then all the way until after the 3rd pass has been completed.

* Pop the hood too early and you are out.

Hey AL:
Cool !
Where is the race?
My car would do well because I would drive 200 miles to go racing an IHRA ProAM.

Now have to tow having added a spool.
But for 30 miles...I could do that too.

Sorry Dan, but it's an all Ford race :

I just got insurance and registered my Mustang this morning.

The NMCA has True Street at all their races and is open to all brands.

You added a spool ?
Didn't know we could run that in PS ??

I wasn't sure about the spool either but I haven't read the rulebook closely in some time.

We run the Super Chevy race every spring at the Motorplex and they have a similar deal to the True Street. Must make a 20-mile drive and then come back and make 3 passes back to back without opening the hood or trunk (air pressure can be adjusted). They do it at the end of the show and bring the cars down the return road in front of the fans. Almost treat them like pros. It's kind of a cool deal and one of the places we look forward to racing every year. I didn't take the car this year as I took a bunch of students from school in a school bus to see their first drag race ever. It was a shame because our car, in legal B/PS form would have easily won the class. Oh well, we'll be there next year and don't have plans to miss again.

Also ... we run about 9 tenths under the index.

Have fun and let us know how it goes!

Scott
