Re: How about buy-backs in stock and super stock
Lets think about this in a rational and beneficial way.
No buy backs, it is eliminations, you lose, your out, end of conversation. All first and second round losers are eligible for a consolation race, at a reasonable price, for a reasonable purse for the winner only, as it is now considered double elimination. Everybody wins, the track, racers, sponsors (exposure), losers. This way no egos are hurt, there is still an all out winner, and the early round losers have a second chance to race. What would be the problem? Ron Ortiz U/SA redemption racing

Re: How about buy-backs in stock and super stock
Why not give everyone a "Participation Wally."
This is stupid... Even T-ball kids know the score, and who won or lost when the score is not kept. If you don't like the rules take your stocker or superstocker and go to your local bracket race. The bonus is they don't weigh, have fuel check, or heads up runs! And then if there is something you don't like you can change their rules, not ours! |

Something to try for the Divisional tracks. Take the round losers..put them back on a Sportsman ladder in the order they were in qualifying...Five minutes or less you've got a ladder.. $20 from the racer, $20 from the track..Pay W and R/U. Who's gonna complain? The people in the stands? They're just family and crew anyway. Might pick up a few more cars for the main event with this..

Re: How about buy-backs in stock and super stock
I failed to mention that my Redemption Race would not be applicable at National Events.
At Divisional and Opens, it is quite sensible. What would really make it fun is if they combined Stock, SS, SC, SG, SST for the Redemption Race, or maybe not. Hey Bill, congratulations on your race car preparation and Brenda's driving. BTW, they already have "Participation Wallys", it is that "Participant Decal" you get when you get your credentials. Re: How about buy-backs in stock and super stock
Why not go to Sealy, TX. A really nice 1/8 track. They have a system that might work: there are colored lights atop the tower. You can enter two different brackets and buy back in both brackets. You can run yourself in the final. A few years back, my son beat the same guy 3 times in one night. When your color is up, go race. When your second color is up, go race again. Winners run each other. Pretty simple really.

Re: How about buy-backs in stock and super stock
Hey Joe Cool, I have the answer. First round loser of the Redemption Race of course.
Personally, I choose to heal my wounds with food and beverages as soon as I become from competitor to spectator. The buy back concept feels like you lost a double header. Ron Ortiz U/SA prolonging the agony
