Re: "Live" from Down South!!!
Well we have been here at the KOA in Starke for a couple of days now. Yesterday was laundry day:
The trunk of our little POS was full of 2 weeks worth of dirty laundry! So we get to the Laundromat and use up every washing machine that wasn't out of order. 7, I think. Then the change machine was broken, so Larry had to go to the bank for a roll of quarters. $20 to do laundry! Sure is nice to have that nice laundry room at home! It has been nice and quiet here, but it has rained off and on every since we have been here. Today we are going over to the track and check on some rigs and take in a movie! This retirement stuff is great! Whenever you get a chance, go up to the Class Racer Magazine and catch the article on us! Ken did a great article. Thanks, Ken. |

Re: "Live" from Down South!!!
Patsy, know you miss your laundry room but always remember if you step outside it you're in the cold and snow. My aunt from Lone Oak spent a month with us culminating in a week long cruise and when I took her back last Sunday the weather was a shocker. Drive over Monteagle was beautiful but foggy but made it home safely before the latest storm came in. Know what you mean, this retirement stuff is 'rough' and catch American Sniper if you haven't already seen it. Oscars snubbed it but that's all the better, right?
And great article by Ken, he's right, you take a whole passel of folks with you on the road, including me. Thanks for all your efforts for keeping everyone in the racing loop.

Re: "Live" from Down South!!!
Larry,
While in Starke go to a restaurant named Grannys on the main drag, it has a big brama bull in the front, it is a block north of the Shell station. Good breakfast and lunch and they are die hard sports fans, you know Fl, FSU Ga etc. Then try the Western Steer up the road for all you can eat country buffet, great fried chicken. Enjoy the place, your not far from the big city of Jacksonville. Robert |

Re: "Live" from Down South!!!
We have been relaxing around here and trying out some new places to eat. Robert, yesterday we tried out Grannie's:
Great breakfast! They had the bull tied down. I guess they were afraid someone would steal him. We then went over to Jacksonville and saw some friends that Larry used to fly model airplanes with years ago. It is always nice to see old friends. Then today I spent a little while at the doctors office to find out I probably have a torn rotator cuff. I am going to try to wait to see an orthopedist whenever I get home if I can wait that long. Then we tried a new place for lunch in Waldo: Larry had ribs and I had catfish! Great food! We will definitely try this again! Leftovers!! |
