One of the sweetest memorys of the Conduit was the black 4 speed, small block Dodge Dart. It was the day after Thanksgiving. We got them for 18 large (total) Heavy covered a lot of the side money. With Froggys 64 Belevdere. They carried a tape recorder in the car. We gave then 1 and the break. You heard the dart shift though into 4 gear. Then you heard a defening roar as the hemi went by. Then silence. We would not pop the hood. But we let one of their guys feel around the oil pan for the cross bolts, Which we had covered over with bondo and smoothed over. I told Froggy to make sure the dart left, because I knew they wouyldn't run once the saw how we ran. He almost waited to long. We got by them about 150 feet before the finish

Re: Rufus Boyd aka Brooklyn Heavy passes.
You mean the Mutt Bros, and Ronnie Lyle from Bedford Ave? No we knew better , When we finally got into that sort of league he wasn't racing anymore. i don't think he street raced after about 1973 or so. He did the prostock circuit legally. I believe that was the first Sox and Martin car in Brooklyn.

In our Charger it went 10.30's at Cecil spinning the tires. Basicly a SS/BA weight with iron heads.
