Help identifing rod bolts
I have a set of rods ( stock ) for a small Chevy ( large journal 3.48 ) and someone has replaced the rod bolts years ago. .375 or .343 , haven't measured yet...........but , there is a "P" stamped on the head and the bolts have the centers for using a bolt stretch gauge.
They might be Pioneer.........anyone have a clue? I want the torque values. I think its 35 ft lbs or so? |

Re: Help identifing rod bolts
11/32" bolts are 35 ft-lbs, 3/8" bolts are 45 ft-lbs. You can also use a stretch gauge and shoot for .007"-.008". If the rods have been run, new nuts are in order.
Large journal rods are always 3/8".
