Default Pure Stock HP Adjustment

IHRA announced a HP adjustment for the 1978 Malibu Wagon with a 327/275 engine.

Now rated at 250 hp in Pure Stock..

Sounds like a great combination.
Is someone lurking around in a 1978 Malibu wagon out there?

Earlier this year IHRA added the 1987-1995 Mustang 302
Rated at 215/213 for Pure Stock.
Lowered it 3 HP for 210 hp.

Think they added the new V6 Mustang earlier this year.
Need to call Mike Baker !

How can a 327 run Pure Stock in a 78 model? Was not available that year.

Might be a typographic error - the last year the 275 horsepower 327 was available was 1968, and has been rated @ 270 horsepower since 2001!

I ran my 95 Mustang 5.0 in I/PS in 2012.
I will look at the sticker on the window but I thought it was @ 210 h.p. and the car min. wt. was 3530 lbs.

Yes, the 2011-2014 Mustang 3.7 V-6 is in the IHRA books. Not sure what it is factored at, but the NHRA # is 260 h.p.

Thanks for the info,,, I didn't realize 350s were available in those vehicles. I was thinking Corvettes, Camaros and trucks. Take care.
