SS'ers and Stockers: What is everyone using for a transmission shield and or flexplate shield (brand)? Did any of you have to perform any modifications to get the trans shield to fit the camaro stock trans housing without hitting? I have two shields currently. I have a B&M shield that hits the housing every which way it can and I have a CSR one piece that provides no clearence between the CSR steel mounting plate and firewall. Considering sending the car to MPR to build a removable trans shield, but I don't want to cut the car up and I don't want to install the trans/motor as one into the car

All suggestions welcomed.

I installed a CSR on a customers 69 camaro last summer, big block with proper mounts. Once you trim the ears and such off the case so the sheild fits as tight as possible it's not too bad, the bellhousing bolts are tight, but it comes with small headed bolts, similar to header bolts, makes it easier. If you're using small block mounts the engine/trans will be ahead about 5/8" giving you a little more room. We didn't have to modify the tunnel at all, but to get the sheild on the trans if has to come right down, no cheating by slipping it up over the end lol.
