2005-09 Mustang build???
I am just finishing up my 96 Cobra that I will be running in Stock this season, and was given a bare shell for a 2005-09 Mustang Convertible. I am looking over the class guides to see what I want to do with this and start the process of gathering the necessary parts.
I have always wanted a Cobra Jet, but done have the means to simply go buy one, I can do most of the car in legal trim but wonder how hard it would be to assemble the parts to build a NHRA LEGAL 2008 spec CJ motor? The other options I have been looking at are the 08 Roush Stage 3, or the P-51, as I think some of these parts may be more readily available and at a better price than the CJ stuff. Which ever route I do it will be an automatic car, and really want to stay with something supercharged. I would like to keep the cost to a minimum and I will be doing most of the work to help, what other options are out there for a fresh build for either stock or super stock???

Re: 2005-09 Mustang build???
If you want to run an automatic with a supercharger in a convertible, then the 2008 281 cu.in. supercharged Roush Conv. and 5.4L CJ are your only 2 choices.
I would think you might be able to find 5.4 parts o.k. I am not certain on the differences between the CJ 5.4 and the GT500 5.4 engine but there is plenty of GT500 stuff around
