Default 55mm cam clearance

anyone know if a 3.5" stroke crank with 2.1 journals with manley aluminum rods would clear a 55mm cam.

Default Re: 55mm cam clearance

You need to mock it up and check w/cam degreed,I say it will be close, if does touch I would notch rods w/flycutter on bridgeport style mill get one where it misses by .050'' then you can cut other 7 exactly the same.I always notch all 8 to keep weights equal for easier balancing and to eliminate chance of having rods in wrong cylinder if only notched for cylinders that hit. also if notching will get into bolt, torque rods before notching so bolt will match notch.Don't have base circle of cam reduced or you will lose one of the benifits of 55MM cam.
