thanks guys, think I've got it under control now...can't bring myself to use twistlock on a high pressure system though...

Can't make a twistlock leak Tom. I have however seen braided line connectors leak due to improper assembly. You will be fine either way.

more worried about if it would go to deadhead pressure for some reason and having it blow off...I've been on fire before

Just from experience I think it would be more likely the hose would rupture before it came off the fitting in any scenario...impossible to pull one off, must be cut.

Rich, do you think that hose is legal to use from pump in trunk to engine compartment ? I thought metal or steel braided was required.........

Pretty sure it is NHRA approved. Mine is protected/shielded in the flywheel area.
