Complaints about quotas will be largely ignored if the trend continues of events closing below the quota. True that plans change and stuff happens but you'd think racers who couldn't get in would be on the keyboard Monday morning just in case.

Not if you need to let an employer know about time off. Most can't just head out of town without notice.

True, Lane..and the self-employed have to schedule work ahead of time.

Recognize the work situation but if a National was in your back yard I think I'd schedule vacation as if you were going and hope to get in Monday morning; if not you could cancel vacation; which I also recognize can be issue with the small employee/self-employed. Seems a better approach than spending a bunch of vacation and thousands of miles travel to get enough grade points to guarantee earlier entry.

Not everyone has the luxury of cancelling a vacation request on a 2 hour notice after it's been approved, and many of us have to plan weeks in advance to submit it. I wanted in the Phoenix National but after it filled up I had no choice but to cancel the vacation. I will have to save it for another race hopefully close to me.

This entire system is really stupid.....Having to attend multiple divisional races just to gather enough points to enter a race where you are considered a nuisance! And then generously allowing a last minute opportunity to cough up over $500 to fight for a contingency award that you may or may not ever collect. Really? We deserve everything they throw at us.

Division Seven races are spread out over a lot miles too. The Phoenix race also comes at the same time Baseball spring training and the Motels jack their prices up over 100%. Real tough on the wallet anyway you see it. Those last minute plans to go racing for a weekend are a bit tougher for some now a days. I'm more a divisional racer now a days anyway. I like being part of the show and not last minute filler. I'm not sure the fans even know Stock and Superstock come to the National events anymore. Not a whole lot of spectators show up at 8 am on a Friday to watch racing. Now we have All access now but the camera guys show up at about 8:30 I think.

Unhappy Re: Stock Eliminator at Wildhorse

For me it wasn't about time off as I get 4wks per year at my job, and I've been there for 14+yrs. It was money (or lack thereof), for that race. It being our slow season and with no o/t offered, no money for national events is available, and without it I'll be focused mainly on the points meets. I'm sure the Graham's don't mind since they get a 1st rnd bye tomorrow morning....This last election isn't helping the cause either, as so far I'm not doing as well financially as I was these previous 4 months from 1yr ago....
