Re: Crank oil pan opinions
Might want to check for a Moldex piece.
Check with Adney Brown of Performance Crankshaft (Detroit Crankshaft) and get his opinion of comparing GM forging bearing last three numbers of 236 after fully prepping and nitriding. You can spend more $, but doubtful if you would get better reliable cranks. Regards, HB2 Dissident |

Re: Crank oil pan opinions
Forgot to include oil pan recommendation: Doug Lee of Engineuity in Miami, OK. Good secret to know about if you want to use aluminum.

Re: Crank oil pan opinions
Just a heads up, "Charlie" of Charlie's Oil Pans retired a few years ago and is living the good life in Florida. The gentleman that took over the business is not pursuing the building oil pans as of the last I knew.

Re: Crank oil pan opinions
My votes would be Winberg on the crank and Doug Lee on the pan.

Re: Crank oil pan opinions
Randallthere is a great link about oil pans on the “Speed Talk” web site. It’s rather lengthybut has some great theoretical and real world discussion with recommendations.

Re: Crank oil pan opinions
Thanks for input. After much research I ordered a Bryant crank with special oil option. I want to run minimal oil volume in certain conditions and light weight oil. This crank at least offers some confidence in going that direction.
Still looking at oil pans however. I am intrigued by Kaase’s comment that if he had to look in only one area only for gains he chose oil pans. |
