Yikes, those tiny little tires look like they are meant for a small tent trailer, not a 3000 lb + car! I have no idea what the load capacity of those tires would be, but I certainly would be worried going down the freeway at 60 MPH or more with them, the wheel speed must be very high.:eek:

Could this picture provide evidence, the missing link if you will, perhaps the very origin of the 'altered wheelbase AFX'

A couple of my favorites of the late 1970's early '80's Avery's hauler, built from an air-cooled VW single cab, unconventionally raised into the unload position with a single hydraulic ram... pretty innovative in my book!

These two Peterbuilt pick up trucks where built from four junked Tractors. He built them to haul his 5th wheel trailer. Took him 5yrs each. patience.

It's aluminum and it's light.Just the right size for my gremlin.
Check out picture #47 on that site.That's plain scary.

Gotcha-----From Howard Beach in 1970- 1989. Very short ride to Fountain Ave. You wouldn't recognize it now !
