Chad, you had to go there didn't you (with your last comment)? Well given where you live, and the recent news that's giving your state (and I digress mine as well), a black eye (no pun intended), I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I hope you keep that George Z. (buttwipe) in your state, because we don't need/want people of his ilk in mine!!!

Oh, and as for the survey Phillip did, you and a few others here Chad are overlooking the point he was trying to make....165 (actual) people voted, and although 71 voters use a SA full face helmet, a combined total of 94 (the remaining voters), either wear a M full, SA open, or M open faced helmet. Thus, more of those who partook in this survey DO NOT WEAR AN SA FULL FACED HELMET....PHILLIPS POINT!!!

You and the others like you may be right that the single majority (of the four types listed), were SA full face helmet users (or the combined total of voters using full faced helmets vs open face helmets, or even SA vs M series helmets) was greater as well, but that's not what he was saying, and the numbers prove it. That's very Fox "So Called" News of you to put a different "spin"(pun intended) on what he was saying, however your apparent source for national news is showing itself clearly to me. Sorry to rain on your parade Chad, but that's the facts! What part of that logic don't you get?My government supported public school taught me that, and it also taught me although your statements add up, so does Phillips, and he has numbers to support his primary summary. You must be a Romney fan, because you're talking a lot like him, and that's scary....

I read your post #90 (I'm assuming that's the one your referrencing), and although all of those figures are correct, so also is Phillips figure, that out of 165 total voters, only 71 of them use SA Full Face Helmets (which was his primary summary), that you and the others are overlooking...why? He got your point, and as I said your numbers add up, but the bottom line is that only 71 out of 165 respondents use that type of helmet. I clearly understand your numbers, but I also understand his...94 out of 165 respondents use either the SA open, the M full, or the M open face helmets. That's all he was trying to say, and that's the one figure you (and others are choosing to ignore). I understand your figures, you however need to understand his.

Sorry Gary but I didn't see your response to my post until now. My remark was limited to the helmet issue and nothing else. BTW I still have a FWD car that runs 12.80 @ 107. I wear the same SA open face helmet as I wear in the RWD race car but with the stock seat belts and no roll bar. It isn't a dedicated race car and is driven some on the street. If it were to be strictly a race car I would greatly consider a roll bar, and that would mean I would need the correct seat belts also. Please calm down, if you want to have the bare minimum safety equipment, go for it, I can assure you, I am only concerned with your safety. Jim

I'm pretty sure the gist of the conversation was about SA vs MA helmets. Right at 70% use SA and 30% use MA. Phillip didn't say at the beginning of the poll exactly what he was looking to prove. All he said after giving four choices was "Just for the fun of it let's see which is most commonly used." Based on that statement the winner was the full faced SA helmet. Frankly I'm surprised so many racers use the full face helmet. I use a SA open face as I stated above. It would be hypocritical for me to be preaching to you to use a full face helmet! My point and I think the point of Chad also was that an SA helmet was safer. That's all. You two need not get your undies in such a wad over that now should you? Jim

Seriously Gary I tried to follow your logic but you spun those numbers to mean what you wanted so much it gave me a headache! You should work for the DNC. They would be glad to have you I'm sure. What does the fact that Chad and I live in Florida have to do with the subject anyway? Give it a rest for just a couple of posts will ya? Sorry to my undies in such a wad Jim but Chad made thing's personal by calling my intelligence, decision making ability and the safety of my vehicles into question. He does not know me or anything about me or my cars and yet thinks he can insult me here, Hardly a gentlemanly thing to do.

If you look at the original thread, some people, myself included questioned your decision of buying a used helmet of questionable origin. You started the mudslinging at me and a few others. I have just responded in kind. Since that time you have expressed a willful ignorance of safety, and lack of comprehension of statistics. You may be very bright in other areas, I don't know. Yes, being as cheap as you are about your helmet purchase, and bragging about it, does raise serious questions in my mind about your lackadaisical attitude toward the rest of your car as well.
