Re: Live from Reading, PA - NHRA Keystone Nationals
For you Larry............. http://www.nhra.com/story/2005/1/21/2537/
Comp has just been call to the lanes, the rest of the sportsman racing has been canceled. Sportsman will run tomorrow before the pro's. I assume stock will be out first. Overnight lows will be in the upper 30's, it should make for some interesting racing tomorrow. |
Re: Live from Reading, PA - NHRA Keystone Nationals
Jack, I know Christmas is just around the corner and I know some day some one else will drive the pink car. It would be great to know all the rules just in case we need to enter the car on owner points. I would never try to change the flavor of anyone's breakfast.
Do you think the year end bonus will be bigger this year? |

Re: Live from Reading, PA - NHRA Keystone Nationals
Thanks Ken. It looks like I can use the owner points for me to get into a race, although I never competed the year before as a driver.
Jack do you think the bonus will have a comma before the decimal point? |

Wondering....
Does Victor's entry have anything to do with Jack's initial rumor re Factory Stock in a separate category? Would give NHRA a chance for additional credibility. FJ |
Re: Live from Reading, PA - NHRA Keystone Nationals
thank-you to Jack and Ken and all those who post pics, vids, and results, for those of us who could not attend. Is a quota really necasary at these events wouldnt max entry be beneficial to everyone and increase support, i wouldnt think there would be any danger of being so many cars that it would be impossible to manage ?

Re: Live from Reading, PA - NHRA Keystone Nationals
They could have a higher quota of cars for the event but not by a lot.
The grass pits were not full and could accommodate more rigs for sure. The size of many racers rigs anymore is a big factor in how many cars they can accept in my mind. Huge trucks with stacker trailers for maybe 2 cars was/is common. Big motorhomes and trailers take up a lot of space..... I was there and toured the entire pits....there was plenty of room for more cars as I said in the grass field but the big rigs and pitting off the side use up the space. The paved pits were totally used up by Pro's, alcohol cars, bikes and manufacturers plus the NHRA entertainment row.... The crowd was very big both Friday and yesterday. Today should be probably standing room only.....and 3 deep at the fences.... |
