Re: HP on monday???
Has NHRA ever tore a 5.7 Hemi down for running fast? I did Merrifield’s heads so I know that they are legal. But it would be bad for racers if NHRA factored an engine and it wasn't even legal. The least that NHRA could do is make sure somebody is legal before they lower the hammer on a whole combination!

Conway Witten[/QUOTE] The least that NHRA could do is to make sure somebody reads their Rule Book before they legalize a whole combination and lower the hammer on an entire class or three! That IS what you meant to say, right Conway? |

They never certified it and it was never weighed or fuel checked yet they still screwed the street hemi combo in an E body for years. Whats new? |
Re: HP on monday???
X-Tech Man, I think they took the Hp. off the street Hemi ? Some of the Division races, if you get Hp. they have you tear down. Happened to Robin Brown in Division 4 . Tom

Re: HP on monday???
I think NHRA removed horsepower from the Street Hemi in the '70 or '71 Challenger (can't remeber which, or, was it both years?), but I'm not sure they took it ALL of...
I hope somebody who knows that story gets on here and explains the HP numbers and what happened; there's a lot of hearsay attached to this particular mess. |
