Hey Jim! I am surprised that anyone even noticed that I was at the top of the stock qualifying list for one day, although I was eventually bumped down to number 3. Thanks for the kind words. Bill

Hey Bill, don't count me out as a FWD guy! I took the SRT4 out of moth balls last month and ran 12.89 at legal weight! I will always be an advocate for the FWD cars! Jim:D

Oh well - still a good running car and decent driver
Would have been a 7 second head start

Everybody complains about the new cars but Bill and Robert were both more than .90 under in old combos - right behind us

And yes we were all out - whether the no names on here believe it or not

And we had to teardown my brand new "baby" - without experience, metric tools or gaskets

Lyle Larson (Andy's Godfather) from DC Performance drove out in a badass GTS Viper to bring us the gaskets

Phil Mandella (PMR Race Cars) found Rick Leininger Jr (MOPAR guy who works for JE Pistons) to help us tirelessly R+R the head until 11:30 Saturday night

Got it back together right - maybe to good BO 1st round

All three of us will be at Bakersfield this coming weekend

:-) peace

Thanks for the update on the V-10 tear down. I was wondering how that turned out!

Good to know he wasnt hurt.

Just for the record, it wasn't that the track was too short. He lost it right after the finish line, and came in contact with the water barriers at the short turnout. Still plenty of track remaining, but something went wrong early on.

The Fontana shut down is about the same as the Pomona shut down. The Pomona shut down is the shortest of all 22 events. It is also downhill.

Here's the shutdown length of most national event tracks. It was compiled by Bret Kepner in 2008. Also, Seattle did add a sand trap last year. The road coarse runs along the fence so they had to add it about 100 feet or so closer to the starting line.

Maybe the fact it's 3 years old is the culprit but thought all tracks had to have sand traps now (look at Norwalk) because of the Scott Kalitta tragedy (plus others). In any case people who've never run Pomona or Fontana before had better check their stuff before running and waste no time hitting the binders when crossing the line...looking for a win light, looking at oil pressure, etc is all secondary. Having run Gainesville several times it definitely spoils you.

You are probably correct. That is most likely the reason Seattle added one last year.
