Let’s hope our Division 2 Director reads and hears all the issues with Rockingham before we have another D2 points race there. It doesn't matter if it's NHRA or IHRA nothing has been changed or updated in years. Let's go back to Bristol, Silver Dollar or stay at Zmax after National Event but NOT Rockingham.

I doubt that will happen. Did you notice the car counts at Rockingham? 88 stockers and 74 Super stock cars. That was the second largest car count this year in D 2 only second to the "baby Gators". So it is a popular destination. Granted the place could use a bit of work but in my opinion it is a better facility than Reynolds. Personally I like going there.

Deserved or not Rockingham has the reputation for being “the Rink” so I’m doubtful the attendance will be as good next year. You can judge for yourself by watching the class runs on Warren’s YouTube channel. That said I think attendance was boosted this year by how close some of the National and D1/D2 points chases were. In any case since Bruton doesn’t seem inclined to host Divisionals Reynolds is the only other option. But if Galot succeeded in facilitating a 1/4 track then you’d see a phenomenal turnout there. Gainesville is probably too far south to draw big but I’d much prefer there even if it meant hosting 2 Division races there (already done in other divisions).

Make no mistake about it the only reason the car counts were this good is because it is the last division points claim in the entire east. Put it any where else on the schedule and you would see what most people think of the place. Other than resurfacing of the track I can't think of anything that has been done there in the last 20 or so years. When they were grinding the track a couple years ago they should've used that thing to grind the roots growing in the pit roads.

I think that you are overlooking a primary reason for the good turnout,,,,2 races/grade points in one weekend.

No clue on how my car would hook there, but we need to be able to adjust to conditions, can't imagine it was any worse than a sweltering summer day at the track.

Dave,
I watched most if not all of qualifying and round coverage of Stock and saw many cars spin the tires hard including a wagon in the right lane that may have been Lee Tuttle or Madison Wilson, I don't remember which.
With that being said, some cars hooked just fine. I guess the groove was very narrow.

We kept softening rear shocks, loosening front shocks, made a small four link change and chipped it down four hundred . We did manage to get Fogle's SS car to go a 9.16 at 145 with a 1.18 60 foot . Plus, the small radials were on. But it was slippery. A narrow groove it might be, problem was you had to move out of the groove a little to get any traction .
