Finally had some time to go searching through my old NHOA newsletters. Found a pic from back in 1980. There's a good article on it with wiring diagrams if you need more liteweight BTW check out the very hard to find heater delete fresh air vent. That vent on a heater equipped car is part of the heater box assembly . https://image.ibb.co/czfPnw/20171125_182301_1.jpg |

Hey thanks guys for the radio/heater plate stuff. Much appreciated!!! I know there's more guys out there with these things. I sure would like to see a few more. Comon guys, Step on up................................. BTW LO23 Keep a close eye on your temp gauge with that motor using the oem style rad with that kinda hp. The alloy block and heads will help but the design of the original rad leaves alot to be desired. ie inlet and outlet on same side. This doesn't promote the coolant for complete core use. liteweight |

Re: Original hemi dart information
Clint
I tried using the original 033 rad, but it would not cooI. I then changed the top tank so the outlet of the rad was on the passenger side to promote flow across the entire core. Helped but still heated. The end result is the biggest rad Be Cool makes to fit in a Big Block A Body without any cutting and 2 puller electric fans. The tanks have notches and fit above the frame rails. After all this, I still have to watch the gauge on hot days. But then again, I do street drive mine every chance I get. Even on those hot days liteweight https://image.ibb.co/mW4vAG/20141010_224206_1.jpg https://image.ibb.co/jdvVcw/20170515_213546_1.jpg Yes its tight https://image.ibb.co/fFEvAG/20170515_213611_1.jpg |

I am thinking I read somewhere back a couple hundred posts that these were also thought to be installed on the Mexico export Darts. Maybe someone has a "south of the border salvage" connection? |

Re: Original hemi dart information
re cooling one of these huge hemis...one of my local speedshop owners/racer has been talking about this race coolant that has a much higher boiling point so if your motor gets hot it won't produce those lethal steam pockets near as soon. just in case you get hot.

Re: Original hemi dart information
Hey Clint
You have the Rick Kent Car correct? This pic just came up on a group on facebook. Never saw this pic before. Not alot of pics out there on it. Interesting is the ScatPack Bee on the quarters. Same location as Wildfire Dart which has never been located liteweight https://image.ibb.co/hEz17w/rick_kent1.jpg i believe Wildfire was an automatic. Rick Kent a stick car? https://image.ibb.co/hpdm7w/wildfire4.jpg |

No, I have the Dick Smith Dart. At least, that's what I've been told, and have no reason to doubt it. Bought it from Jim Keyes, who owned the car since 1972 or 1973. |

And looking closer at those Bees on the quarters on the Rick Kent car and the Wildfire car, they be different. I don't believe the Rick Kent car has been located come to think of it liteweight |

Re: Original hemi dart information
I don't remember if it was here or one of the Facebook groups we covered this topic, but the Rick Kent car was "restored" by Bob Mosher in California for someone. It had a red/silver checkered flag Eddie Smith-esque paint scheme, now painted solid silver.

Re: Original hemi dart information
Just thought the stance and the color was rather unique. Not sure if it is a light gray or white. Like the steel wheels. That car looks all business.
