First time seeing a blue version of Dave's orange Barracuda. Btw, does Reed from Nebraska still own this car? Did he restore it? From what I remember him telling the members of the Yahoo! StockSSDragRacing group, he found the car in my neck of the woods (actually northeast part of NJ). Ah, let me find the message...hold on a few minutes...here it is:

Subject: [StockSSDragRacing] Trip to NJ -- Cars in fallen down building -- 68 SS Cuda & 67 Vette

Here's a shot of what happens when the owner doesn't take care of building maintenance !!

The 67 Vette was a 427 tri-power/ 4-speed // the 68 SS Cuda is now here in my shop in Nebraska. It was Dave Wren's FIRST SS Cuda - been in this building since late 1969 after the owner bought the body from Sox & Martin. If you look in the S&M book at the picture inside their shop of the SuperBird, the Wren Cuda is right next to the Bird -- the original fenders and hood are still the that orange paint scheme and match the the Cuda in the picture.

Its a ruff car in some ways but has a lot of good points such as 90% of the TUFF to find parts are with the car. I have most of the engine parts here already incl. NOS carbs, etc. I already bought another body to chop so we can reskin the roof and quarters.
I'll post more later -- Thanks, Reed in Ne.

That's the last I heard about it...

You're correct, they did. I remember seeing it For Sale in one of the mid-1970s National Dragster issues. Let me see if I can find it...ah, here it goes:

Thanks for the friendly welcome Liteweight,

Modern SS/AH is an incredible class from an engineering standpoint, but it has become very uneventful to watch ...almost like Pro Stock Lite. We've watched our beloved Mopar Super Stocks go through a bunch of transitions over the past 50 years, from factory exotica to early Pro Stock to hand me down bracket warrior to Concours restorations.

The ones that I dream about lately are the competitive cars from the late 70s / early 80s. Cars like Bob Marshall's A990 with factory trunk floor, notched frame rails, 14 x 32 slicks mounted on Super Trick wheels, simple roll cages and nosebleed wheelies from SS springs and ladder bars. I first fell in love with Super Stock back then and that era of car / driver made a profound change in my automobile tastes that will last forever.

My sentiments exactly...

I just called the number in the ad and offered them 4 times what they were asking for it...but they said it was sold already! ;) Anyone know any more info on this L023 Hemi Dart, or who's car it was originally.

Thanx for your comment. I appreciate it.
Ya, when I started this up a couple years ago looking for the history of my car, I had NO idea what it would have turned into. The wealth of shared info & pictures has been nothing short of outstanding. I look forward to new updates on different cars daily.

More than enough material for a book.

Then we'll have two or three people that are writing books on this subject that are on these forums...just ask them the titles of their books.
